About this game
One fragrance a day, in ten guesses. The cells are house, country, launch year, audience, scent family and price tier. Six cells, more than any other game on the site.
The pool mixes French classics, designer scents and niche, plus the Gulf houses: Amouage, Rasasi, Lattafa, Armaf, Arabian Oud, Abdul Samad Al Qurashi and Ajmal.
How to play it well
Six cells means every guess returns a lot, so do not rush the final answer. Even a completely wrong guess hands you five or six signals.
The house cell is the strongest. Big houses have several fragrances in the pool, so a green house after guessing Dior leaves you with a small handful and you need one or two more moves at most.
Scent family is a text cell with no amber: floral, woody, oriental, fresh, aquatic, citrus, gourmand, leather, chypre, amber, fruity, aromatic. If you know fragrance, this is the fastest cell for narrowing the field.
Launch year gives an arrow and turns amber inside eight years. The eras are widely spaced: the twenties, then the seventies, then the mid-nineties, then post-2015, and each has its own character.
Price tier runs budget, mid, premium, niche. Note that niche here is a price and distribution tier, not a scent family.
