About this game
An Arab footballer every day, in ten guesses. The cells are nationality, continent, birth year, position, and whether he is still playing.
The pool spans nineteen Arab countries and covers the current generation and the ones before it. Majed Abdullah, Lakhdar Belloumi, Tarak Dhiab, Ahmed Radhi and Adnan Al Talyani are in there, alongside Mohamed Salah, Achraf Hakimi, Salem Al Dawsari, Akram Afif and Bilal El Khannouss.
How to play it well
Open with a player from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria or Saudi Arabia, the four federations with the largest share of the pool. Someone like Mohamed Salah tests country, continent, era and position in a single move.
The status cell is powerful here. Retired players are a completely separate group, and a green on retired takes you out of the current generation entirely and into the nineties and two-thousands.
Position runs goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, and gives you a directional arrow. Guess a defender and get an arrow up, and the answer is a midfielder or a forward.
Birth year only turns amber within five years, a tight window that makes it one of the sharpest hints in the game.
Do not confine yourself to the big nations. There are players from Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Mauritania, Palestine, Bahrain and Oman in the pool, and most people never think of them until their guesses run out.
